Pirates blank San Diego City, 9-0
SAN DIEGO -- If you're going to make the long trek to San Diego, you might as well make it worth your while and for the Orange Coast College men's tennis team, it was mission accomplished as the Pirates rolled over host San Diego City College, 9-0, on Thursday in a nonconference matchup.
The Pirates (11-4) lost just nine games total in singles play and were led by Logan Friedman (6-3, 6-1), Kai Rodriguez (6-0, 6-4), Anis Benamar Kerfah (6-0, 6-0), Ryan Magers (6-1, 6-0), Ryan Palaeologus (6-0, 6-0) and Makoto Seike (default).
Over in doubles, it was more of the same for the victorious Pirates as the teams of Friedman/Rodriguez (8-0), Benamar Kerfah/Chris Mietkiewicz (8-2) and Magers/Will Davis (default) cruised to victory in their matchups.
Coast continues its schedule on Friday at home against Ventura and again on Tuesday against Glendale. Both matches will begin at 2 p.m.
