Pirates roll past Rustlers, Hornets

FULLERTON -- It was another dominating performance by the Orange Coast College men's track team during Friday's tri-meet with Golden West and Fullerton, held at Fullerton College.

The Pirates earned a 126-28 win over the Rustlers and a 143-11 win over the Hornets in Friday's Orange Empire Conference event.

Coast sprinter Demauria Stewart picked up a pair of wins in the 100-meter dash (11.14 seconds) as well as the 200 (22.53).

Standout jumper Winston Lawson claimed victory in both the 110 hurdles (15.53) and the high jump (6 feet, 4 3/4 inches).

Several Pirates won individual events, including Marcel Smith in the 400 (51.29), Yadir Perez in the 800 (1:58.82), Lucio Ramirez in the 1,500 (4:13.56), Brandon Ferguson in the 3,000 (9:16.34), Bryson Crawford in the 400 hurdles (56.85), Wyatt Dobrick in the long jump (21-10), Chris Henderson in the triple jump (44-1/2), Brawley Osborne in the hammer throw (141-05) and Talon Sudbeck in the javelin (167-1).

OCC will compete at the LaVerne Invitational on Saturday, beginning at 9 a.m.
