COSTA MESA -- Freshman guard Chyann Pendergrass and sophomore forward Sami Little earned first-team, All-Orange Empire Conference honors for the Orange Coast College women's basketball team, as voted on at the annual OEC women's basketball coaches meeting last week.

Little led the Pirates in scoring during conference play at 13 points per game (12.1 ppg overall), while Pendergrass averaged 12.3 points and a team-best 5.8 assists per game in OEC contests.

Overall, Pendergrass averaged 10.8 points and 5.1 assists per game for the Pirates, who finished the season 16-14 overall, 6-6 in conference.

Little will return to Coast next year and be an assistant coach for longtime skipper Mike Thornton, who already has two former Pirate players on the coaching staff, Valerie Katayama and Alyssa Hanson.

Freshman forward Jenna Rodriguez was a second-team, All-OEC selection for the Pirates. Rodriguez, who mised the final three games of conference play with an ankle injury, averaged 13.1 points and 8.3 rebounds per game for the Pirates in 2015-16. During OEC play, Rodriguez nearly earned a double-double average with 12.8 points and 9.7 rebounds per game.
