COSTA MESA -- The Orange Coast College women's basketball team settled for a split of its two game OCC Crossover on Friday night, falling to L.A. Valley, 58-53 after topping Rio Hondo, 67-47, on Thursday night.

For the Monarchs Adaora Obi pounded out 19 points and seven rebounds, while Diana Duenas and Diamond O'Connor each chipped in nine points off the bench.

Coast trailed by 11 at the half (39-28) but used a 16-9 third quarter to get back into the game, where it went back and forth over the final quarter of play.

Chyann Pendergrass nailed a 3-pointer with 3:22 left to play to bring the Pirates to within a point at 53-52, but Coast went 0-for-5 from the floor and 1-for-6 from the line the rest of the way.

It was a much different story on Thursday as the Pirates blew past the visiting Roadrunners early, then, cruised to a 67-47 win. Coast was led offensively by Wu, Rodriguez and Sami Little, who each scored 14 points. Pendergrass dished out nine assists, while Rodriguez and Nunes each had nine rebounds.
