Pirates continue to impress in OEC matchup
FULLERTON -- The Orange Coast College women's golf team continue their steady play at the Orange Empire Conference events and earned another second-place finish on Wednesday at Fullerton Golf Club.
Led by a trio of sub-80 scores, the Pirates placed runner-up with a team score of 314, just two shots off of first-place Mt. San Antonio's team score of 312. Cuyamaca earned a third-place spot with 325, while host Fullerton (362) and Mt. San Jacinto (419) completed the top five.
Moon Pyae Sone Khin took the low spot for the Pirates and shared the lot score for the entire field after carding a 2-over-par, 74. Delylah Collins was three shots off the top pace with a 77, while Jeannie Tahvildari was close behind with a 78, followed by Sophia Tipton (85), Lillian Thurston (88) and Taylor Tuxford (88).
The Pirates will host the OEC teams on Wednesday for their annual "Neutral" match, beginning at 11 a.m. at Costa Mesa Country Club's Mesa Linda course.
