Pirates continue to roll with 9-0 win over Irvine Valley

COSTA MESA -- The Orange Coast College women's tennis team continues to demolish the competition as the Pirates blanked visiting Irvine Valley, 9-0, on Tuesday at the OCC Tennis Complex.

Through 13 contests in 2019, the Pirates are a perfect 13-0 (6-0 in the Orange Empire Conference) and have won 110 out of 114 total matches played this season.

In Coast's shutout win on Tuesday -- OCC's fifth straight 9-0 decision -- all six singles matches ended in straight-set victories, including Miri Inoue (6-1, 6-3), Shayee Sherif (6-1, 6-1), Nicole Knickerbocker (6-1, 6-0), Camryn Mason (6-0, 6-1), Claire Boettcher (6-0, 6-2) and Rosemary Magnuson (6-1, 6-0).

The dominance continued over on the doubles' side as the teams of Inoue/Knickerbocker (8-1), Sherif/Mason (8-0) and Boettcher/Jackie Kaiser (8-0) rolled past the Lasers.

Coast looks to make it 14 in a row on Thursday as the Pirates host Riverside City College on Thursday, beginning at 2 p.m.
