Pirates go 14-0 with 7-2 win over Tigers

COSTA MESA -- Another day, another win for the Orange Coast College women's tennis team as the Pirates topped visiting Riverside City College, 7-2, on Thursday at the OCC Tennis Complex.

Coast (14-0, 7-0 in OEC) jumped out to a 4-2 lead in singles play as the Pirate foursome of Miri Inoue (6-0, 6-2), Shayee Sherif (6-0, 6-0), Nicole Knickerbocker (6-1, 6-2) and Shannon Stone (2-6, 7-5, 10-3) picked up wins for the Pirates.

Needing just one more win in doubles to take the match, Coast came out strong and knocked out all three as the teams of Inoue/Knickerbocker (8-4), Sherif/Camryn Mason (9-7) and Stone/Jackie Kaiser (8-5) prevailed for OCC.

Just how impressive of a season has it been for the Pirate women's tennis team? In OCC's 14 matches, Coast has shut out its opponent in 10 of them.

Coast looks for 15 straight on Tuesday as the Pirates host Fullerton, beginning at 2 p.m.
