Coast women place eighth at CCCAA Meet

FRESNO -- The Orange Coast College women's cross country team wrapped up its 2015 season with an eighth-place team finish at the California Community College Athletic Association State Cross Country Meet, held on Saturday, Nov. 21 at Woodward Park.

The Pirates came in with a team score of 248 points. Glendale dominated the meet and claimed the state crown with a score of 37, followed by Hartnell (117) and College of the Canyons (121).

Three OCC runners -- Alyssa Allen, Jenessa Reyes and Kimberly Solorio all cracked the top-50 to lead Coast in the final meet of the season. Allen finished 23rd with a 5K time of 19 minutes, 18 seconds, while Reyes placed 37th with a time of 19:31.5 and Solorio placed 50th with a time of 19:49.2.

Other solid Pirate times were clocked in by Karen Cruz (20:03.8), Rebecca Ross (20:35.4), Daisy Vazquez (21:09.6) and Jennifer Romero (21:44.2).
