COSTA MESA -- The Orange Coast College baseball team dropped its fifth straight game on Tuesday, a 13-4 loss to visiting Irvine Valley College at Wendell Pickens Field.
Coast fell behind 4-0 before a solo home run by Danny Jimenez and an RBI-single to center by Austin Saenz helped bring the Pirates (21-14, 9-11 in Orange Empire Conference) to within a pair at 4-2.
But the Lasers (11-23, 6-14) used three OCC errors and pounded out seven runs in the top of the fifth inning and never looked back.
IVC starter Jon South (2-4) went the distance, allowing four runs (three earned) on eight hits with three walks and one strikeout.
OCC starter David Wilson (4-2) allowed seven runs (five earned) over four-plus innings and took the loss.
The Pirates and Lasers will wrap up the regular season at IVC on Thursday, beginning at 2 p.m.
