Pirates on the lookout for new head football coach

Orange Coast College is looking to hire a new head football coach and hopes to have the position filled in time for the 2014 football season, according to the school's Athletic Director and Dean of Kinesiology/Athletics, Michael Sutliff.

The new head coach will take over for longtime skipper, Mike Taylor, who will remain on staff as an assistant head coach and as a position coach. Taylor has been on the OCC coaching staff for 28 seasons and has been the head coach of the Pirates since 1999.

According to Sutliff, with the eventual retirement of Taylor and the approval of the Coast Community College District (CCCD) to add a full-time faculty member to the Kinesiology/Athletics Division, the time was right for this transition.

The CCCD is accepting applications for the position and the closing date to apply is Feb. 15. For more information on the position, click on the link below.
