Pirates ambushed by Rustlers

COSTA MESA -- The "Victory Bell" will remain in Huntington Beach for the fourth year in a row as the Orange Coast College football team fell to Golden West, 52-7, on Saturday night at LeBard Stadium.

The tempo was set by the Rustlers (8-1, 4-1 in Southern Conference) when wide receiver Nik Little took a lateral pass and threw a 74-yard touchdown strike to Luke Pastell on the first play from scrimmage, putting GWC ahead for good.

The Pirates (3-6, 1-4) struggled on both sides of the ball as the Rustlers made life miserable for Coast the entire night.

The quarterback tandem of Newsom and Cameron Biedgoly threw for 257 yards, with one touchdown and three interceptions on 28-of-42 passing.

Larenzo Williams earned 91 yards rushing, 26 yards receiving and 24 yards on returns for 141 all-purpose yards.

McFadden finishd with 61 yards on four receptions, while teammate A.J. Holman led Coast's receivers with five catches for 79 yards.

GWC quarterback Chris d'Entremont threw for 197 yards and two touchdowns on 15-of-22 passing and added two rushing touchdowns as well.

Little caught six passes for 171 yards and two touchdowns for the Rustlers, while Ryan Hunley made the most of this five carries as he rushed for 136 yards and two touchdowns.

The Pirates will wrap up the 2013 season at home on Saturday against first-place Fullerton College, beginning at 6 p.m.
