Pirates falter to Fullerton, 84-61

COSTA MESA -- The Orange Coast College men's basketball team ran into the size and shooting of the Fullerton College Hornets and fell, 84-61, on Wednesday night inside the Peterson Gym.

Julian Daaboul led Coast with 12 points, while Jay Fromm came off the bench for 11 points.

For the Hornets, Jaqari Miles found his range from 3-point land, nailing 7-of-10 from downtown en route to 26 points. Down low, Joe Grahovac added 23 points on 10-of-11 shooting to go along with five rebounds and five blocks.

Coast fell behind early and in spite of improved play on the offensive end in the second half, the Pirates could mount a threatening comeback after trailing 37-19 at the half.

Fullerton was held to just 46 field goal attempts, but the Hornets made 29 of them to the tune of 63% from the floor, including 9-of-16 from 3-point range.

The Pirates will return to action on Friday at Santiago Canyon, beginning at 6 p.m. OCC's next home game will take place on Wednesday against Irvine Valley, also at 6 p.m.
