Pirates roll to 9-0 win over Hornets
FULLERTON -- The Orange Coast College men's tennis team took to the road and came away with a 9-0 Orange Empire Conference win over Fullerton College on Thursday afternoon.
The Pirates (9-6, 3-5 in conference), who did not lose a set the entire match against the Hornets, had victories turned in by Elmer van Butselaar (6-0, 6-0), Darren Dinh (6-1, 6-1), Peter Hariri (6-2, 7-6), Ross Ewart (6-2, 6-1), Philip Vu (7-5, 6-4) and Joseph Nguyen (6-1, 6-1).
The success continued over to the doubles' side of things as the Pirates picked up solid wins from van Butselaar/Hariri (8-0), Dinh/Anthony Thai (8-4) and Vu/Aidan Arango (8-2).
The Pirates will return to the familiar surroundings of the OCC Tennis Complex, where they will host Cypress on Tuesday, beginning at 2 p.m.
