Pirates wrap up regular season with 18-5 win over Hornets

FULLERTON -- The Orange Coast College men's water polo team wrapped up the 2016 regular season with a convincing 18-5 Orange Empire Conference win over host Fullerton College on Wednesday afternoon.

Parker Scott had four goals for the Pirates (20-6, 4-1 in conference), while Parker Evans, Skyler Chanove and Devin Dayan each scored three goals. In goal, Alexander Furlong notched six saves to go with a team-best eight steals. 

Up next for the Pirates is the 2016 Orange Empire Conference Championships, hosted by Saddleback College, beginning on Friday and continuing on through Saturday.

Coast, which finished second in the OEC standings, will take on the winner of the Riverside/Santa Ana matchup on Friday, beginning at 2:20 p.m.

The, loser of that 2:20 p.m. contest on Friday will compete in the third-place match on Saturday at 12:30 p.m., while winner of that contest will advance to the OEC title match, which begins at 3:10 p.m.
