Pirates rout Hornets
COSTA MESA -- The Orange Coast College men's water polo team had zero troubles taking care of business on Wednesday as the Pirates cruised to a 31-1 Orange Empire Conference win over visiting Fullerton College in an Orange Empire Conference matchup.
Coast (16-6, 4-1 in the OEC) scored eight goals in each of the first three quarters of play and only a Hornets goal early in the fourth quarter prevented a shutout win.
Jason Honey had five goals to lead the way for OCC, while Carmelo Bangs and Sean Lovett scored four goals each and Roman Christenot, Griffin Likins, Sawyer McCormick and Forrest Annis each tossed in three goals.
With Coast scoring at will on breakaway opportunities, goalie Anderson Crane paced the offense with seven assists.
Crane played the final three quarters in goal and finished with four saves.
Coast will return to action on Saturday at the Long Beach Mini Tournament.
