Dominguez sets All-American pace for Pirates at State Meet

FRESNO -- Sophomore runner Danny Dominguez earned a spot on this year's All-American team after a solid 11th-place finish at Saturday's California Community College Athletic Association State Cross Country Meet, held at Woodward Park.

Dominguez took on the 4-mile course and finished with a time of 20 minutes, 41.7 seconds.  By finishing in the top-14, Dominguez earned a spot on this year's All-American list

With the help of three top-50 finishes, the Pirates placed eighth overall with 202 points, behind Riverside (88), Glendale (112), Mt. San Antonio (120), Cuyamaca (123), Hartnell (144), San Bernardino Valley (190) and Santa Ana (201) in the 28-team, 206-runner field.

Sophomore Galyn Nash finished 29th for the Pirates with a time of 21:07.2, while sophomore teammate, Oscar Salas, finished 41st with a time of 21:20.2.

Other top times for the Pirates included Peter Costanzo (21:33.4), Adolfo Cruz (21:35.8), Hector Leon (22:43.6) and Shawn Contreras (22:43.8).
