Pirates finish seventh at Brubaker Invitational

ORANGE -- The Orange Coast College men's cross country team continue to post solid times throughout the 2018 season and on Friday, that tradition continued with a seventh-place team finish at the Brubaker Invitational on Friday at Irvine Park.

With five scoring runners cracking the top-50, OCC finished with a team score of 188 points. Only Santa Ana College (fifth, 166 points) finished higher among the other Orange Empire Conference schools in the 14-team race.

Leading the way for the Pirates was freshman Jordan Knoblock, who completed the four-mile race with a time of 21 minutes, 55 seconds. Knoblock, who averaged a 5:28 mile throughout the race, finished 28th overall.

Other top OCC times included Myles Aguilar (22:20.4), Adam Angel (22:27.2), Justin Dominguez (22:31.6), Jacob Skytte (22:32.3), Jesus Zuniga (22:39.0), Oscar Gatica (23:26.0), Tanner Grohmann (23:48.7), Anthony Osorio (23:51.2), Sebastian Chavez (23:59.5), Zachary Dignan (24:20.2), Mateo Nicanor (24:20.6), Joseph Pena (24:56.6), Louis Wai-Choon (25:25.8), Jonathan Aguirre (26:02.8), Jonathan Marin (27:15.6) and Ernesto Zepeda (28:40.6).

Coast will not compete this weekend, but will return to action on Friday, Oct. 19 at Cal State Fullerton for the 2018 Titan Invitational, beginning at 5 p.m.
