Pirates take fourth overall at OEC Cross Country Championships

RIVERSIDE -- The Orange Coast College men's cross country team ran a strong overall race and finished fourth overall at the 2018 Orange Empire Conference Cross Country Championships, hosted by Riverside City College, on Friday morning.

With all five point-producing runners within 10 spots of each other, the Pirates finished fourth with a team score of 100 points, trailing only champion Riverside (33), Santa Ana (54) and Saddleback (68).

OCC's top runner was freshman Myles Aguilar, who finished 15th overall on the four-mile course with a time of 22 minutes, 36.8 seconds, followed by Justin Dominguez (19 points, 22:53), Jordan Knoblock (20 points, 22:59.8), Adam Angel (21 points, 23:03.8) and Jacob Skytte (25 points, 23:33.2).

Other top Pirate times included Jesus Zuniga (23:33.3), Tanner Grohmann (23:41.5), Jesus Orbe (24:31.7), Sebastian Chavez (24:32.9), Anthony Osorio (24:35.9), Zachary Dignan (24:39.5), Mateo Nicanor (25:07.2), Louis Wai-Choon (25:45.8), Joseph Pena (26:02.9), Jonathan Aguirre (26:04.1 and Ernesto Zepeda (28:45.6).

The Pirates will return to action on Friday at the 2018 Southern California Regional Championships on Friday at Dan Knabe Regional Park in Cerritos, beginning at 9 a.m.
