Pirates finish eighth overall at 3C2A State Meet

FRESNO -- It was another strong season for the Orange Coast College men's cross country team, who finished eighth in all of California at the 3C2A Men's Cross Country State Championships on Saturday at Woodward Park.

Coast finished with 256 points, thanks to a trio of runners who cracked the top-50 in points against the best runners in the state. San Diego Mesa took the top team spot with 83 points, followed by Moorpark (161) and De Anza (207).

OCC's Moises Bailon earned the top spot for the Pirates with a 29th-place finish, conquering the famed four-mile course with a time of 21 minutes, 39.3 seconds.

Caden Guardino wrapped up his cross country career at OCC with a state top-50 time of 21:55.5, good enough for 42nd place.

Other top Pirate runners included Jimmy Dominguez (22:04.7), Farhaan Safi (22:28.4), Chance Callinan (22:30.4), William Dang (23:05.1) and Nathan Garcia (23:40.5)
