Pirates roll past Copper Mountain

COSTA MESA -- The Orange Coast College women's basketball team put up some impressive numbers on Wednesday night and cruised to an 83-32 win over visiting Copper Mountain College, played inside the Peterson Gym.

Isabella Hollibaugh led OCC with 19 points and nine rebounds, while Jenna Miramontez returned to the court after missing most of the season with a knee injury and drained six 3-pointers on her way to 18 points. 

Aubriona Mathis added 16 points and 11 rebounds, Skyylar Perdomo made the most of her 23 minutes and scored 10 points, Siena Ontiveros dished out a season-best 13 assists and Angelina Alvarez battled the tall timbers under the basket and pulled down 11 rebounds.

For the Fighting Cacti, Courtney Stanford led the way with 12 points, while Tusitusia Brown added 11 points and eight rebounds.

Coast set the pace of the game from the opening whistle and never let up, outscoring CMC 29-9 in the first quarter and 47-18 at the half.  OCC made 35 field goals, including 10 3-pointers and out-rebounded the Cacti, 42-31.

The Pirates will kick off the second half of Orange Empire Conference play on Friday at home against Riverside, beginning at 5 p.m.
