Pirate lady golfers place fifth at El Prado
CHINO -- The Orange Coast College women's golf team shot a team score of 343 for fifth place at Wednesday's Orange Empire Conference matchup, held at El Prado Golf Club.
Mt. San Antonio carded a 322 to win the event and maintain a strong grip of first place overall in the OEC Standings., while College of the Desert shot a 325 for second place, Irvine Valley (339) placed third and Palomar (341) edged Coast for the No. 4 spot. Mt. San Jacinto (350), Cuyamaca (369), Saddleback (377) and Fullerton (453) rounded out the team scoring.
Emily Lewis led the way for the Pirates after carding an 80 for the day's round. Other top scores for OCC include September Mirghanbari (87), Minh Ngo (88), Nicole Jenkins (88) and Madeline McCloskey (101).
The Pirates and the rest of the OEC teams will head out to Sun Lakes Country Club for a "neutral" matchup on Monday, Oct. 19, beginning at 11 a.m.
