Pirates send pair to SoCal Regional Women's Golf Championships
BANNING -- The Orange Coast College women's golf team will be represented by a pair of standout players at this week's Southern California Regional Championships following their strong performances at last week's Orange Empire Conference Championships, played at Sun Lakes Country Club.
Freshmen Emily Lewis and September Mirghanbari each qualified for regionals after finishing in the top eight among individuals on teams that did not qualify. OCC finished seventh in the two-round finals and did not advance.
Lewis carded an opening-round 84 and followed that up with a 92 to finish with a two-round total of 176, while Mirghanbari carded back-to-back 92s for a 184.
The Southern California Regional Women's Golf Championships will take place Sunday and Monday at Alisal Ranch Golf Resort, located in Solvang.
