Pirates top Golden West, Fullerton

FULLERTON -- The Orange Coast College women's track team cruised to team wins over Golden West (121-31) and Fullerton (125-23) on Friday in a tri-meet on Friday at Fullerton College.

Standout Sabrina Howe picked up wins in three different events for the Pirates, winning the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 16.1, the high jump with a mark of 4-feet, 11 3/4 inches and the long jump with a distance of 16-10 1/2.

Ashley Tupailesa threw her way into a pair of victories in the discus (107-8) and hammer throw (134-08).

Other event victories for the Pirates were provided by Nikki Puerner in the 200 (26.52), Leanne Allen in the 800 (2:22.62), Raenna Cortez in the 1,500 (5:00.34), Kristie Son in the 3,000 (10:59.52), the OCC 4x400 relay team (4:11.66) and Kanessa Uta in the shot put (32-4 3/4).

Coast will compete in the LaVerne Invitation on Saturday, beginning at 9 a.m.
