Coast cruises to 8-1 win over Victor Valley
COSTA MESA -- The Orange Coast College men's tennis team made quick work of Victor Valley College as the Pirates rolled to an 8-1 nonconference win on Tuesday afternoon.
Straight-set victories were posted by Andrew Pham (6-0, 6-1), Chris Chiu (6-0, 6-0), Chad Meyer (6-0, 6-0), Dillon Nguyen (6-1, 6-1) and Chris Tran (6-0, 6-2).
In doubles play, it was a clean sweep for the Pirates (1-1 overall) with wins produced by Pham/Nguyen (8-5), Meyer/Tuan Pham (8-2) and Minh Vang/Nicholas Do (8-3).
The Pirates will return to action on Friday at Grossmont, beginning at 2 p.m. OCC's next home match will take place on Tuesday against Mt. San Jacinto, also at 2 p.m.
