Pirates remain unbeaten with 5-4 win over Palomar

COSTA MESA -- The depth of the Orange Coast College men's tennis team came into play on Friday as the Pirates edged visiting Palomar, 5-4, to remain unbeaten in 2017.

Despite losses at No. 1 and 2 singles, the Pirates showed their depth with solid wins the rest of the way as Peter Hariri (6-4, 6-2), Kendall Harris (6-0, 6-4), Noah Prohaska (6-3, 6-2) and Ross Ewart (6-0, 6-2) picked up singles wins as Coast led 4-2 heading into doubles.

Coast needed only one doubles win and that's what was delivered as the team of Harris and Quoc Tran rolled to an 8-2 win, giving the Pirates their fourth win in a row to start the season.

The Pirates will return to action on Tuesday at home against Santa Barbara City College, beginning at 2 p.m.
