Pirates blank Bakersfield, 9-0

BAKERSFIELD -- The Orange Coast College men's tennis team headed out of town to Bakersfield on Friday and came home with a 9-0 nonconference win over the host Renegades.

The Pirates (10-2) made fast work of Friday's hosts, by losing only 10 games in all of singles play as Brendan Baar (6-0, 6-1),  Quoc Tran (6-0, 6-0), Peter Hariri (6-1, 6-1), Kendall Harris (6-0, 6-1), Noah Prohaska (6-4, 6-0) and Ross Evert (6-1, 6-1) each swept their way to victory.

In doubles, it was more of the same as the teams of Baar/Hariri (8-0), Tran/Ewart (8-2) and Harris/Jaime Sabate (9-8) each came out on top.

The Pirates (10-2) will play at Irvine Valley on Thursday, beginning at 2 p.m. OCC's next home match will be on Thursday, March 23 against Saddleback, also at 2 p.m.
