COSTA MESA -- The Orange Coast College men's tennis team picked up a pair of three-set wins in singles, highlighting a 6-3 Orange Empire Conference win over visiting Riverside City College on Tuesday.

At No. 1 singles, Brandan Baar overcame a tough first-set loss to pick up a huge win over RCC's James Andra, 6-7, 6-4, 6-1.

The same can be said at No. 3 singles for Quoc Tran, who fell to Grady Harrell, 4-6 in the opener before coming alive to win the final two sets, 6-1, 6-3.

Straight-set wins in singles also came at No. 5 for Kendall Harris (6-3, 6-1) and at No. 6 for Ross Ewart (6-3, 6-1).

In doubles, Baar and Peter Hariri doubled-up the Tigers for an 8-4 win, while at No. 2 doubles, Harris and Tran pulled out a hard-fought, 9-7 win to complete the Pirates' victories for the afternoon.

The win improved the Pirates to 7-2 overall, 1-2 in conference, while the loss drops the Tigers to 5-5, 0-2.

Coast will play at Saddleback on Thursday (2 p.m.) before returning to the OCC courts to host Fullerton on Tuesday (2 p.m.).
