Pirates continue strong start with 5-0 win over Vaqueros

COSTA MESA -- The Orange Coast College men's tennis team improved to 5-0 with a solid 7-2 nonconference win over visiting Santa Barbara City College on Tuesday afternoon.

The match of the afternoon took place at No. 1 singles, where OCC standout Brandon Baar overcame an opening-set loss to rally past SBCC's Emerson Sekban, 3-6, 6-1, (11-9 tiebreaker). 

Coast won four other singles matches, as Peter Hariri (6-0, 6-1), Quoc Tran (6-3, 6-0), Kendall Harris (6-1, 6-0) and Ross Ewart (6-0, 6-0) cruised to victories.

In doubles play, Tran/Harris (8-2) and Ewart/Noah Prohaska (8-5) added to the Pirate victory total.

The Pirates will return to the OCC tennis courts on Thursday as they host Mt. San Antonio, beginning at 2 p.m.
