Pirates have little trouble with L.A. Pierce in 9-0 win

WOODLAND HILLS -- The trip was well worth it for the Orange Coast College men's tennis team as the Pirates rolled past L.A. Pierce College, 9-0, on Tuesday in a nonconference matchup.

The Pirates (11-2) lost only nine games in singles play as Brendan Baar (6-3, 6-1), Quoc Tran (6-1, 6-0), Peter Hariri (6-1, 6-1), Kendall Harris (6-0, 6-0), Noah Prohaska (6-0, 6-0) and Jaime Sabate (6-2, 6-0) swept through singles play with ease.

The fun continued in doubles as the teams of Baar/Hariri (8-0), Tran/Ryan Liang (8-3) and Sabate/Harris (8-0) continued their fine play and finished off the host Brahamas. 

Coast returns to Orange Empire Conference action on Thursday at Irvine Valley College, beginning at 2 p.m. OCC's next home match will be on Thursday, March 23 against Saddleback, also at 2 p.m. OCC is 3-2 in OEC play, trailing only first-place IVC (6-0) in the standings. Cypress is tied with the Pirates at 3-2, with Saddleback (2-2) close behind.
