Pirates finish regular season with 7-2 win over host Hornets

FULLERTON -- The Orange Coast College men's tennis team picked up a 7-2 Orange Empire Conference win on Friday against Fullerton College to wrap up the regular season and snap a four match losing skid.

With the win, the Pirates finish the regular season 13-6 overall (4-6 in conference) and are hoping for an at-large berth to the Southern California Regional playoffs, which will be determined on Sunday afternoon.

Coast won five of six singles matches to take care of business against the Hornets, with Brendan Baar (6-1, 6-1), Quoc Tran (6-3, 6-1), Peter Hariri (6-0, 6-3), Noah Prohaska (6-3, 6-1) and Ross Ewart (6-0, 6-0) earning straight-set victories.

The strong play continued in doubles as Daar/Hariri (8-2) and Proheska/Ewart (8-2) each notched wins for the Pirates.
