Pirates remain unbeaten with 7-2 win over Bakersfield
COSTA MESA -- It's been a solid start to the 2018 season for the Orange Coast College men's tennis team and on Tuesday, the success continued with a 7-2 nonconference win over visiting Bakersfield.
OCC (5-0) took care of business in singles play, winning five of the six matches played against the Renegades. Straight-set wins were achieved by Joey Dijkstra (6-1, 6-1), Ho Kiu Tam (6-3, 6-2), Charlie Vanderwey (6-0, 6-2), Doug Nguyen (6-2, 6-0) and Yuma Olsen (6-0, 6-1).
In doubles, the Pirates took 2-of-3, thanks to wins by Tam/Chris Hasrouni (8-2) and Dijkstra/Matt Lindsey (8-1).
Coast will return to the OCC tennis courts on Friday for a matchup with Imperial Valley, beginning at 9 a.m.
