Dominguez earns second-team, all-conference honors for Pirates
COSTA MESA -- Orange Coast College third baseman Mariah Dominguez wrapped up a solid two-year career with the Pirates and was recognized by her peers by being selected to the second team of this year's All-Orange Empire Conference Team.
After hitting .299 for the Pirates her freshman year, Dominguez bettered her numbers and batted .389 with 37 hits, 12 runs, 10 extra-base hits and 15 RBI, striking out just three times in 95 at-bats.
Dominguez opened the season hitting safely in 16 of her first 17 games and collected seven multi-hit games, capped off with a 3-for-3, two-double performance against Santiago Canyon on April 20.
The Los Alamitos High School grad led the Pirates in several categories, including hits (37), home runs (2), RBI (15), average (.389), on-base percentage (.433) and slugging percentage (.547).
