OCC Offers Advanced, Elite Softball Summer Camps

Orange Coast College will offer two summer softball camps for advanced-level players beginning on June 22.

OCC Head Softball Coach Jodie Legaspi-Kiaha and Assistant Coach Monica Harrison will team up with OC Batbusters head coach Mike Stith and assistant coach Toni Mascarenas to run the camps. Legaspi-Kiaha and Harrison previously played softball for UCLA, where they were NCAA national champions. Mascarenas previously played for University of Arizona, where he also won the NCAA national championship.

OCC's Advanced Softball Workshop is open to girls, ages 8-plus. The group training offers intense offensive and defensive workouts, and will cover speed, strength and conditioning, and game strategy. The workshop will take place from June 22 until August 27, Monday to Thursday from 10 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. in OCC's Softball Stadium.

OCC's Elite Girls High School Softball Camp offers position specific training for high school age athletes. Players will have a chance to improve their game IQ, and refine offensive and defensive skillsets. The camp will take place from June 22 until August 27, Monday to Thursday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. in OCC's Softball Stadium.

The cost for both camps is $175. Registration currently is open at http://orangecoastcollege.augusoft.net/ under the "sports camp" category.
