Pirates edged by Pima College, 5-4
COSTA MESA -- The Orange Coast College women's tennis team fell to 7-4 overall with a 5-4 nonconference loss to visiting Pima (AZ) College on Tuesday.
The Pirates fell behind 4-2 after singles play, despite strong play from Maddie Koehly (7-5, 6-1) and Michelle Cyrus (6-2, 6-2).
Koehly and Cyrus continued their winning ways in doubles with an 8-6 win, as did the team of Kitty Trinh and Mai Hashimoto (8-3), but the Pirates ended up one win short.
Coast will return to Orange Empire Conference action on Thursday at home against Cypress, beginning at 2 p.m.
