Pirates bounce back to sweep Tigers

RIVERSIDE -- The Orange Coast College women's volleyball team shook off last week's loss to Irvine Valley with a solid three-set win over Riverside City College on Friday night at RCC.

The outside hitting came fast and furious for OCC (12-3, 5-2), with Lucrezia Lualdi leading the way with 14 kills and 13 digs, while Mahina Kenoi continues her return to 100% with an impressive 13-kill, 13-dig performance.

Bailey Coffin continued her solid play with nine kills and seven digs, while middle blockers Lily Johnson and Joceline Martinez combined for 10 kills with only three hitting errors.

Thea Snider dished out 41 assists for Coast, while libero Terri Takita-Robins notched 12 digs.

Vashti Elias-Romero had 16 kills and 12 digs for the Tigers (8-8, 3-4).

Coast will have Wednesday off, but will return to the Peterson Gym on Friday as the Pirates wrap up the opening round of Orange Empire Conference play against Cypress, beginning at 6 p.m.
