Strong first half lifts Pirates past Hornets

FULLERTON -- With 14 first-half goals, the Orange Coast College women's water polo team jumped out fast and cruised to a 16-6 Orange Empire Conference win over Fullerton College on Wednesday afternoon.

Bailey Lloyd had four goals and four assists for the Pirates (12-2, 2-0 in OEC), while Shawna Kedzie added four goals and two assists. Other multi-point producers for the Pirates included Brooke Branum (three goals, two assists), Laurin Semmelroth (two goals, three assists), Madison Weber (one goal, three assists) and Lilli Lindgard (one goal, one assist). 

In goal, Avery Goodall was strong with 13 big saves, including several early stops that helped OCC jump out to its big lead.

The Pirates will return to action this weekend at the Cuesta College Tournament before returning to OEC play at Santa Ana College, beginning at 4 p.m.
