Lee's monster game lifts Pirates past Miramar

SAN DIEGO -- Jamaal Lee had a game for the ages for the Orange Coast College men's basketball team, lifting the Pirates past Miramar College, 80-74, on Friday night.

Lee scored 27 points and grabbed 22 rebounds to lead the Pirates to their second win of the year (2-3). The sophomore standout, who was 8-of-14 from the floor and 11-of-16 from the free-throw line, also dished out five assists and earned a pair of steals.

Josh Mendoza added 15 points, all from 3-point range, while Kyle Lawson added 12 points and Lloyd Wright knocked in 11 points and added five rebounds and five assists.

Coast made nearly half of its shots (26-of-53 from the floor) and held the Jets to just 32 second-half points to earn the comeback win.

The Pirates will have the week off and compete in the Neil Edwards Classic at Citrus College, beginning on Friday, Nov. 27 against East Los Angeles at 7 p.m.
