GLENDORA -- The Orange Coast College went 0-2 at last weekend's Citrus College Tournament, losing to East Los Angeles, 71-46, on Friday and to San Diego City, 75-72 (OT), on Saturday.
It was a rough tourney opener for the Pirates (2-5), who fell behind, 38-18, and could never get on track, offensively. Jamaal Lee led Coast with 15 points and 13 rebounds, while Kyle Lawson added nine points and Jumoke Walker tossed in seven points.
It looked to be more of the same as Coast fell behind the Knights, 40-25, at the half, before outscoring SDCC 43-28 in the second half to force overtime.
OCC fought hard in the extra session, but a 7-0 run doomed the Pirates down the stretch.
Lee recorded a triple-double for the Pirates, scoring 17 points, grabbing 15 rebounds and dishing out 10 assists, while Josh Mendoza added 11 points and Lloyd Wright tossed in 10 points.
Coast will return to action this weekend at the Mt. San Antonio College Tournament, which kicks off on Friday against City College of San Francisco, beginning at 5 p.m.
