WHITTIER -- The Orange Coast College men's soccer team opened the 2014 season with a solid 3-1 win at Rio Hondo College on Wednesday afternoon.
Sophomore Brice Manning led the Pirates with two goals, while Carlos Valencia added a goal and an assist. Estevan Silva added an assist for Coast and sophomore goalkeeper Nathan Brown notched 10 saves to preserve the win.
Manning's first goal came unassisted in the 20th minute. Midway through the second half, Manning took a feed from Valencia in the 63rd minute for Coast's second goal before Valencia iced the game with OCC's third tally of the game.
The Pirates will return to action on Friday at the OCC Soccer Complex against L.A. Harbor, beginning at 2 p.m.
