NORCO -- After a 256-minute scoring drought, the Orange Coast College men's soccer team finally found the back of the net as the Pirates rolled to a 3-0 Orange Empire Conference win over Norco College on Tuesday afternoon.
After opening the season with a 3-1 win at Rio Hondo, the Pirates (2-2-3 overall, 1-0 in OEC) scored only one goal over the next 491 minutes before Brice Manning scored a goal off an assist by Blake Mooney in the 14th minute against the Mustangs (1-5-2, 0-1-0).
In the 41st minute, Ryota Kaneshiro took a feed from Maximiliano Aceves and beat the Mustangs' goalkeeper to make it 2-0.
Finally, in the 78th minute, Aceves joined in on the offensive explosion when he scored off of an assist from Mooney to make it 3-0.
That was more than enough offense for OCC goalkeeper Nathan Brown, who earned the shutout win with a nine-save performance. Brown has played every minute in goal for the Pirates and has a 0.71 goals-against average with three shutouts.
Coast will return to action on Friday at home against Santiago Canyon, beginning at 3 p.m.
