Pirates return to win column with 9-0 victory over Hornets
FULLERTON -- The Orange Coast College men's tennis team snapped a mild losing slide with a solid 9-0 Orange Empire Conference road win at Fullerton College on Thursday.
Tokunosuke Takahashi overcame a first-set loss to top Matt Mulrooney, 3-6, 6-1, 6-2 to highlight singles play for the Pirates (5-4, 1-2 in OEC).
Another close call came in doubles, where the Pirate twosome of Ryu Miyake and Pinoe Chu outlasted Mulrooney and Mecir Ureta, 9-7.
Coast will return to action, weather permitting, on Tuesday at home against Cypress, beginning at 2 p.m.
