Pirates blank Chargers, 9-0
CYPRESS -- The Orange Coast College men's tennis team dropped a grand total of eight games throughout the afternoon en route to a 9-0 Orange Empire Conference win over host Cypress on Thursday.
Led by No. 3 singles player Tony Wright (a 6-0, 6-0 winner over Jay Jay Pamplona), the Pirates (8-5, 3-3 in OEC) cruised to a 6-0 lead in singles before notching a pair of 8-1 wins in doubles (No. 3 doubles win by default).
The Pirates will return to OEC play on Tuesday at home against Riverside, beginning at 2 p.m.
