Pirates roll past Miramar, San Diego City in back-to-back sweeps

SAN DIEGO -- The Orange Coast College men's volleyball wasted no time on either of last week's trips down south as the Pirates swept past Miramar College, 25-8, 25-14, 25-18 on Wednesday before rolling past San Diego City, 25-10, 29-27, 25-14, on Friday.

With these two wins, the Pirates continue to lead the Pacific Coast Conference with a 11-1 record (18-2 overall). Coast will play at Palomar on Wednesday (6 p.m.) before hosting Grossmont on Friday (6 p.m.) in the regular season finale.

In the win over SDCC, Adrian Faitalia was lights out for the Pirates with 16 kills on 21 attempts with zero hitting errors (a .762 hitting percentage). He also had five digs and six total blocks. 

Fellow slugger Gianluca Grasso came up with 13 kills and a season-best 17 digs. As a team, Coast hit an incredible .519 with only six errors the entire match.

Setter Jake Adams dished out 38 assists to go along with six digs, while Jordan Hoppe showed a strong defensive game with nine digs.
