Pirates claim PCC title with win over Grossmont

COSTA MESA -- The Orange Coast College men's volleyball team wrapped up the regular season atop the Pacific Coast Conference for the third time in five years after sweeping past Grossmont, 25-20, 25-18, 25-20 on Friday night inside the Peterson Gym.

It is the fifth PCC title for head coach Travis Turner and the 16th conference title in school history.

Jordan Hoppe led the Pirates (20-2 overall, 11-1 in conference) with 12 kills and seven digs, while Adrian Faitalia added eight hills and seven digs. As a team, Coast committed just six hitting errors, while racking up a .526 hitting percentage. 

Jake Adams paced the offense with 21 assists, while Sean Keyes added 10 for OCC, winners of 11 straight and 15-of-16.

Up next for the Pirates is the California Community College Athletic Association State Volleyball Championships, set for Thursday, April 28, at L.A. Pierce College. Time and opponent will be announced at a later date.
