Pirates wrap up regular season with 3-2 win over Dons

HUNTINGTON BEACH -- The Orange Coast College beach volleyball team ended the regular season on a high note, earning a 3-2 win over Santa Ana College on Friday at the Huntington Beach/Newland Courts.

Depth was the key to victory for the Pirates (7-8) as they picked up wins at the Nos. 2-3-4 pairs. At No. 2, Sierra Lim and Hannah Del Barto rolled past SAC's Kayla Long and Kassandra Murillo, 21-8, 21-12, while at No. 3, Rylee Adair and Devyn Holland cruised past Iliana Mendoza and Britany Tran, 21-13, 21-9.

At No. 4, it was a bit closer, but still a victory for OCC as Enjelica Glattli and Alexandra Hayes slipped past Karissa Mumfort and Lily Reissmueller, 21-18, 21-15 to preserve the team win for the Pirates.

With the loss, the Dons finish the regular season at 7-10.

Coast will begin postseason action on Wednesay at Irvine Valley College as the Lasers host the Orange Empire Conference Pairs Individual Tournament.
