Pirate VB pair moving on to four-year level

COSTA MESA – A pair of Orange Coast College women's volleyball players will be taking their athletic and academic careers to the four-year level with the departure of Sierra Lim (Hope International University) and Enjelica Glattli (Westcliff University).

Lim, who played libero and outside hitter for the Pirates over the past two seasons, finished her OCC indoor career with a school-record 917 digs, surpassing the previous top mark of 846, set by Ashlee Moon in 2005-06. She also finished with 95 kills and 54 assists. As a freshman, Lim notched 592 digs, second-most in one season in school history.

"I'm looking forward to going to Hope next year and playing with some of my old OCC teammates," Lim said, referring to current HIU players, Measha Lindstrand and Megan (Ritchie) Armstrong. "OCC has a great coaching staff and great facilities and I liked the way the coaches didn't treat me lightly and made the best player I could possibly be."

For the OCC beach volleyball program, Lim capped off her two-year career with 21 pairs victories, second-most all time in school history.

Glattli, who came to OCC after spending one season at Iowa Central University, was a solid, all-around player for the Pirates in 2016, dishing out 439 assists to go along with 24 kills, 19 aces and 164 digs. On the beach, Glattli went 8-8 as a freshman in pairs competition, while as a sophomore, she continued her strong for the Pirates this year. She went 12-7 overall in 2018, 6-3 with partner Georgia Grisham, 6-4 with Alexandra Hayes. The 12 wins in a season is tied for most by an individual in a season, while the 20 wins in a career is third all time at OCC. The 14 pairs wins overall with Hayes is the most for a duo in school history.

"I was planning on going to Cal State L.A., but things fell through so my former coaches who helped at my high school talked to me about going to Westcliff," Glattli said. "I'm really going to miss the close-knit friendships I developed at OCC from my time with the volleyball team. The diversity on campus, the clubs, the major prep classes ... there was just so many different things at Coast to get into. I really learned from the coaches at OCC to focus on what I can do and not what others are doing. They never asked me to jump higher or grow taller ... just work as hard as I can."
