Four Pirates named to beach volleyball All-OEC team
COSTA MESA -- Four members of the Orange Coast College beach volleyball team earned All-Orange Empire Conference honors for 2018, as voted on by the conference's coaches following the regular season.
The teams of Jadelyn Forgiarini/Kacey Mathieson and Sierra Lim and Hannah Del Barto each earned second-team, All-OEC honors for the Pirates.
Forgiarini and Mathieson finished 2018 with a record of 12-11 overall and competed at the No. 1 slot for the Pirates all season long. After a 10th-place finish at the OEC Pair Tournament, Forgiarini and Mathieson advanced to the Southern California Regional. The 12 wins on the year is tops on the single-season wins list in OCC beach volleyball history for a pairs team.
For Lim and Del Barto, the Pirates duo finished 10-9 this year after splitting time at the Nos. 2 and 3 spot in the OCC rotation.
In their two years at OCC, Forgiarini finished her Pirate career with 23 pairs wins (most in school history), while Lim is second all time with 21.
