Pirates roll to 6-1 win over Chargers

CYPRESS -- Dominic Bair and Vitor Gameiro each scored a pair of goals to lead the Orange Coast College men's soccer team to a convincing 6-1 Orange Empire Conference win over host Cypress College on Tuesday afternoon.

Gameiro picked up the first goal for the Pirates (3-2-7, 2-1-2 in OEC) in the 12th minute off an assist from Meven Amglade and the Pirates made that lone goal hold up for the entire first half.

The Pirates exploded for five second-half goals -- including four over a seven-minute span -- to pull away from the Chargers (5-5-2, 2-3-0).

In the 52nd minute, Bair scored his first goal of the match to make it 2-0 and after Cypress made it 2-1, OCC ripped off three goals over the next four minutes, with tallies by Nicholas Cardenas in the 54th minute, Bair in the 56th minute and Gameiro in the 58th minute.

Finally, in the 84th minute, Shiotsu Kosei wrapped up the scoring with the Pirates' sixth goal of the afternoon.

Goalkeeper Sina Shahnazari enjoyed the goal barrage from afar and notched the win with four saves.

The Pirates will return to the OCC Soccer Complex on Friday to host Golden West, beginning at 3 p.m.
