Softball trio earns All-Conference honors for Pirates

COSTA MESA – A trio of Orange Coast College softball standouts earned All-Orange Empire Conference honors this year, as voted on by the conference's coaches at their postseason meeting.

Freshman pitcher/outfielder Danielle Votendahl and sophomore second baseman Audrey Beck earned first-team, All-OEC honors, while sophomore third baseman Nala Osorio earned second-team honors for the Pirates.

Votendahl had an outstanding season for the Pirates in her first year with the program. As a hitter, she batted .352 with 37 hits, 12 doubles, eight home runs and 29 RBI, while as a pitcher, she went 3-6 with a very respectable 3.61 ERA, striking out 33 over her 66 innings of work.

Beck, who came to OCC after spending a year at Mount Mary University, batted a team-best .390 and also led the Pirates with 48 hits, 31 runs, and 19 stolen bases. She notched 16 multi-hit games as a sophomore for the Pirates, including a six-game stretch in the middle of the season where she went 16-for-24 (.667 average) with eight runs, three triples and eight RBI.

Osorio, a two-year member of the Pirates, batted .357 as a sophomore with 41 hits, 27 runs, 11 doubles, five home runs and a team-best 29 RBI. It was a steady two-year career for Osorio, who batted .345 as a freshman with 41 hits, 13 doubles, 17 extra-base hits and 22 RBI.
