Three Pirates earn All-Orange Empire Conference selections

COSTA MESA -- A trio of Orange Coast College women's basketball standouts were selected on this year's All-Orange Empire Conference team, as voted on by the conference's head coaches this past weekend.

OCC sophomores Michelle Wu and Chyann Pendergrass were first-team, All-OEC, while freshman Sydney Driggs earned a spot on the second team.

Wu finished third in the Orange Empire Conference in scoring, averaging 17.3 points per game during OEC play. Her 207 conference points were second only to Saddleback's Janae Omusi (281). She made 34 3-pointers in conference, the most of any OEC player.

Pendergrass, a first-team, All-OEC selection as a freshman last year, was a solid two-way player for the Pirates, averaging 9.4 points, 5.0 rebounds and a conference-best 5.6 assists per game.

Driggs averaged 13.3 points per game for Coast in OEC play and her absence over the past three games have shown her importance as the Pirates finished up the regular season with losses in four straight.
